SALT Cultural Centre is housed in a former salt silo by the fjord in Tvøroyri, transformed into a vibrant cultural venue through an extensive renovation completed in 2017. The project preserved the silo’s distinctive industrial architecture while adding modern facilities and a bright glass entrance.
Today, SALT hosts concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, and a wide range of cultural events throughout the year. It is also home to the local amateur theatre association, Suðuroyar Sjónleikarfelag.
The building is sustainably heated using renewable energy from the fjord and is located just a short walk from the marina, making it easy to reach by both land and sea.
SALT is a unique meeting place where industrial heritage, culture, and modern design come together in the heart of Tvøroyri.
