Town Council meetings are normally held once a month, usually on the last Thursday of each month, although changes may occur. All Town Council meetings are normally held at the Municipal Office, Tvøravegur 37, in the council chamber at 5:00 p.m.

Matters to be considered at a Town Council meeting must be submitted to the Town Council no later than the 5th day of the month in which the meeting is held.

In addition to the regular Town Council meetings, the Council may hold extraordinary meetings when decisions must be taken on important matters requiring urgent attention.

In July, the Town Council observes its summer recess.
